Nottingham Forest have announced that Brennan Johnson has signed a long-term deal with the club.

The midfielder has caught the eye with a number of impressive performances for the Reds this season, and he'll be keen to force his way into the starting XI on a regular basis in the near future.

Johnson has featured once in Forest's league campaign this term, whilst also making two appearances in the EFL Cup, which included a win over Derby County.

His strong performances haven't gone unnoticed on the international stage it seems, as he scored the winner for Wales' under 21's side against Belgium during the international set of fixtures not so long ago.

Forest have started the season impressively, and currently occupy one of the play-off positions in the early stages of this season.

They narrowly beat Barnsley 1-0 at the weekend, but were far from their best, with Brice Samba being kept busy throughout the contest at the City Ground.

Sabri Lamouchi's side are next in action against Arsenal in the EFL Cup, where Johnson could be in line to feature against the Premier League giants at the Emirates Stadium.

The Verdict:

This is a smart move by Forest.

Johnson has really impressed me so far this season, and it seems as though he could be a player with a bright future ahead of him in senior football.

Forest have done well to tie him down to a long-term deal, as they'll be able to name their price from any clubs that are interested in landing his signature in the future.
