Nottingham Forest are preparing a season-long loan move for Tottenham midfielder Tom Carroll, according to FLW sources.

The 22-year-old lis likely to be on the fringes of the Premier League side this season, and he looks set to leave White Hart Lane on loan before the end of the transfer window.

Forest manager Stuart Pearce knows Carroll well having spent time managing him for the England under-21 side,.

Pearce is eager to add more depth to his midfield before the end of the transfer window and is eyeing Carroll as an ideal addition to the squad.

Carroll has a wealth of Football League experience, having had spells at Queens Park Rangers, Derby County and Leyton Orient.
