Nottingham Forest go into this weekend's encounter with Barnsley hoping to break into the Sky Bet Championship play-off spots, after a hugely impressive start to the 2019/20 season.

The Reds picked up a magnificent 1-0 win on the road against high-flying Swansea City at the weekend, propelling the East Midlands side into 10th spot in the league standings.

After making a slow start to the season against West Bromwich Albion, Forest haven't suffered defeat since their opening day defeat to the Baggies, and will be hopeful of claiming another victory this weekend.

Plenty of Forest fans have been left delighted at their side's start to the campaign - Sabri Lamouchi has got his players playing attractive, attacking football, whilst also making the Reds an extremely solid unit in defence.

The players are loving life under the Frenchman, it seems, with star-striker Lewis Grabban recently admitting that he's loving the "freedom" Forest are playing with thanks to a solid defensive line.

Ousted defender Alexander Milosevic has also

You get the feeling, though, that Milosevic's positivity and happiness will run out sooner rather than later, if the start of the season is anything to go by.

The 27-year-old became one of Martin O'Neill's first signings as Forest manager last season - the Irishman signing the defender from AIK Solna after replacing Aitor Karanka at the helm.

The Swedish centre-half established himself as an important player for the Reds, forming a solid partnership with Yohan Benalouane, and making 12 appearances in the second-half of the campaign.

But a frustrating time with injury towards the latter stages of the campaign cut Milosevic's season short, and he has since become surplus to requirements under Sabri Lamouchi.

Milosevic is yet to make a first-team appearance for the Reds this season, perhaps testament to the outstanding form of Joe Worrall and Michael Dawson in defence.

The pair have been ever-presents in the Championship under Lamouchi, with Dawson acting as an excellent mentor for the ever-improving Worrall, who has looked like a different player since returning from a loan spell at Rangers.

Tobias Figueiredo and summer signing Chema have also been given their chance to impress in the Carabao Cup, with Milosevic left kicking his heels along with Benalouane and the injured Michael Hefele.

Forest look extremely solid in defence, and it's now highly unlikely that Milosevic will break into the first-team anytime soon, especially with four defenders seemingly ahead of him in the pecking order.

He may be smiling now, but as months go by and game-time fails to come along, Milosevic will only become more frustrated on Trentside.
