Ipswich Town are now unlikely to sign Will Swan from Nottingham Forest with them instead on the brink of a loan signing of Troy Parrott from Tottenham.

The Tractor Boys have been looking to add an attacking player towards the end of the transfer window and Swan had been linked with a switch from Nottingham Forest to Portman Road for the rest of the campaign.

However, Parrott's expected arrival at the club from Tottenham, appears to have ended the chances of Swan heading to Suffolk.

Ipswich reporter Stuart Watson confirmed as such on Twitter this morning:

The Verdict

Obviously, Ipswich had a list of players that they wanted to go for and they've ended up with Parrott by the looks of things.

The Tractor Boys are looking to challenge at the right end of League One in the second half of the season and will hope Parrott can help.

Indeed, he has a point to prove himself after a tough loan spell at Millwall in the first-half of the campaign where game-time was limited in the Championship by injury.

For Swan, meanwhile, it remains to be seen if another move materialises or if he stays put at the City Ground.
