Huddersfield Town winger Adama Diakhaby is set to undergo a medical this afternoon ahead of a proposed move to Nottingham Forest, according to reports from L'Equipe.

The Reds look set to complete their first signing of the January transfer window with Diakhaby set to arrive on a loan deal until the end of the season.

It is claimed that Forest will have the option to buy Diakhaby at the end of his loan spell, if the club wish to.

The 23-year-old signed for Huddersfield from AS Monaco last summer, but he is yet to open his goalscoring account for the Terriers.

The rapid winger has made 18 appearances in all competitions for Danny Cowley's side this term, but only nine of those appearances have come from the off.

Diakhaby worked very briefly with Sabri Lamouchi at Rennes, and the 23-year-old will be eager to hit the ground running at the City Ground if he does go and sign on the dotted line.

Forest sit fifth in the Championship table after beating Luton Town at the weekend - the Reds sit five points off the automatic promotion places with a game in hand.

The Verdict

Diakhaby could be a really interesting signing for Forest, and he is a player that they are currently lacking.

He is tall, strong, powerful, rapid and direct, and they currently miss that winger who can just burst past players with their electric pace and power.

His end product hasn't really been there for Huddersfield, but with a bit of coaching and a fresh move, he could be a success at Forest.
