It’s been another frustrating year for Nottingham Forest in the Sky Bet Championship, with the Reds failing to make the impact they would’ve wanted.

Aitor Karanka is now in-charge at the City Ground, and although the Spaniard has helped to move Forest clear of any potential relegation trouble, results have hardly been impressive in recent weeks.

Since his arrival, we’ve already seen Karanka do some good work towards the back end of the January transfer window, with Forest’s boss sure to be active once again in the summer market.

If Karanka’s first transfer window is anything to go by, it will be a busy summer at the City Ground, with plenty of additions made, but also current numbers cut, as Forest look for the right quality to push on.

With that in mind, we take a look at Karanka’s squad, identifying THREE players we are expecting to see him axe in the summer…

Karanka has used Mancienne sparingly, with the 30-year-old clearly not in Forest’s plans going forward.

Mancienne is an experienced player, but ultimately, Forest need to be looking to move him on if they are to start again under Karanka.

Clough is a difficult player to judge, as prior to his move to Forest, he was very good.

However, things haven’t worked out for the forward at the City Ground, and even a loan back to Bolton isn’t helping.

The summer might be the time for Clough to move on permanently.

Bouchalakis hasn’t featured for some time in a red shirt.

The midfielder started the season well for Forest under Mark Warburton, but things haven’t happened for a the 25-year-old since then.

The likes of Ben Watson and Jack Colback have push Bouchalakis out of the picture, meaning a summer move could well be on the cards.
