With the news that young, promising defender Joe Worrall could be set to leave the City Ground for the Hawthorns this summer, Nottingham Forest supporters will be optimistic of a potential replacement.
The 20-year-old is just one of a successful group of players to come out of the club’s prestigious academy in recent times, however, fans will be desperate to keep hold of one of the division’s hottest properties.
In case Forest do happen to lose Worrall, who has just signed a three-and-a-half-year deal, then manager Mark Warburton must invest in Bristol City’s £850,000-rated defender Taylor Moore.
Having spent time in France with RC Lens, the centre-back put pen-to-paper on a permanent deal at Ashton Gate last summer and was sent out on loan to League One strugglers Bury in January.
At 19-years of age, Moore is tipped to have a bright future in the game, especially as he’s featured in a number of the youth set-ups in the England national team.
It’s time Nottingham Forest started to splash the cash after their marque arrival in the winter transfer window of Zach Clough, who has, admittedly, become a hit at the City Ground.
Warburton’s attack is definitely a threat, but if Joe Worrall decides to pack his bags for the Premier League then he’ll need a replacement and I can’t think of anyone better than Taylor Moore.
The only downside to Forest attempting to acquire the player’s services is that Bristol City paid £1.5 million for him, so it will take a lot of persuading to convince Moore that there’s a better career for him in the east Midlands.
Nottingham Forest fans, do you think Joe Worrall would realistically depart? Is Taylor Moore a suitable successor? Would you splash that amount of money on him? Let us hear your opinions in the comments below!
