Aitor Karanka’s attention will already be turning to the summer, with Nottingham Forest’s season all but over.

There are just four fixtures of the season remaining for Forest, and although Karanka will want his side to pick up some positive results in the coming weeks, he will be looking at the bigger picture.

One thing you’d expect to see at the City Ground is another busy transfer window, as Karanka looks to get things right ahead of next season, which is going to be huge year for the club.

Karanka will be assessing what he now has available to him at the City Ground, looking at the members of his current squad he will want to take forward.

Additions will have to be made to the current group, and with that in mind, we take a look at FOUR players that Forest should be keeping tabs on between now and the end of the season…

Marriott’s goalscoring form this season will have probably mean that Forest have taken a look at him already, but they should continue to monitor the striker.

Karanka will have to bolster his strikeforce in the summer, and Forest could do far worse than bringing Marriott to the City Ground.

The 23-year-old’s record this season has been magnificent and he could be a great fit.

Leadbitter is someone that Karanka won’t have to scout much, as the duo know each other from their time at Middlesbrough.

The midfielder is an exceptional leader and an experienced Championship player, perfectly fitting the personnel Karanka wants at Forest.

Morris has once again had a good season in League One, with the 26-year-old amongst the goals in an attacking midfield role.

He might not have been as prolific as last season, but there is something to admire about Morris’ style and Forest should take a look to see if he is capable of taking the step up into the Championship.

Another striker Forest could take a look at is McBurnie, who is currently on-loan with Barnsley from Swansea City.

The Scottish international’s reputation continues to grow and he could be a shrewd addition anywhere in the Championship.

It’s well worth Forest taking a look.
