Nottingham Forest have recently bid farewell to defender Alex Milosevic after spending less than 11 months on Trentside.

The 27-year-old arrived at the City Ground from AIK Solna last February, and quickly established himself as an important player for Martin O'Neill in the second half of the season.

But after making 12 appearances in all competitions for the Reds last term, the Swedish centre-half fell out of favour under Sabri Lamouchi this time around, failing to feature under the Frenchman.

The likes of Joe Worrall, Michael Dawson, Chema and Tobias Figueiredo have all found themselves higher up in the pecking order than Milosevic, hence why he is now looking for a new club heading into November.

Milosevic isn't likely to be the only player to leave the City Ground between now and the end of January, with Lamouchi undoubtedly looking to clear the deadwood in order to bring in new faces to strengthen their promotion push.

Most Forest fans will be expecting the likes of Michael Hefele, Yohan Benalouane, Zach Clough and Costel Pantilimon all to leave the City Ground in January - players who are yet to feature under the French boss.

But before wanting to get rid of the latter, perhaps the club should be cautious and think again.

Pantilimon was a regular for Forest under both Aitor Karanka and Brice Samba last term, making 44 appearances in the Sky Bet Championship, so he's clearly an established player in the second tier.

But the towering Romanian is yet to feature under Lamouchi this term, with Brice Samba establishing himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the division, and Aro Muric playing second fiddle behind him.

But there are question marks over Muric's future on Trentside, with some expecting parent club Manchester City to recall him from his loan spell at the City Ground, having made just five appearances this season.

That, and a potential injury to Samba, would leave Forest suddenly short in-between the sticks, and however unlikely it may seem, they need to be careful when deciding Pantilimon's future.

He is an experienced player who will know that he has to bide his time and maintain a professional head whilst being overlooked by Lamouchi, but his time could well come this season at any stage.

Jordan Smith has left a lot to be desired in the past as well, so if he was to play, it would be a risky move by the club.
