The recent takeover by Evangelos Marinakis, his appointment of some impressive key personnel, and an established Championship manager in Mark Warburton at the helm means that Nottingham Forest may finally have a reason to get excited about next season.

After five years of embarrassment, mistakes and financial mess under former owner and chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi, it is quite clear that Warburton and his staff will not be splashing the cash on big players this summer.

Nonetheless, the former Brentford boss has revealed that he is looking for five to six experienced Championship players and one of those players he could look at is the Cardiff City winger Craig Noone.

Bluebirds boss Neil Warnock revealed yesterday that the talented winger was set to depart South Wales for a new challenge, and with The Reds in need of some for attacking threat from the flanks, Noone could be the man they go for.

Despite the inconsistent Mustapha Carayol and the attack-minded Jamie Ward, the East Midlands club lack a winger who can skip past defenders and create chances and although Noone has struggled for form recently, there can be no doubt that he fits the bill as to what Forest need.

Quick, skilful, creative and a wand of a left foot, Noone could add some real quality to Forest's attacking arsenal.
