Nottingham Forest midfielder set for temporary EFL loan spell

Nottingham Forest midfielder Tyrese Fornah is edging closer to a loan move to Shrewsbury Town this month, as reported by analytics writer and reliable source of all things Forest, Liam Henshaw.

The 22-year-old, who has played five minutes of Championship football and has been on the bench in four league games, has predominantly starred for the club’s U23s this season.

The young midfielder spent last season on loan with Plymouth Argyle, proving his class and ability at third-tier level, with Fornah spending the previous season in Portugal’s second-tier with Casa Pia.

Shrewsbury currently sit 15th in League One, with a five-game unbeaten run in the league lessening the threat of a relegation battle in what remains of the third-tier campaign.

However, they remain just six points from the League One drop-zone, with Salop hopeful of adding enough quality to eliminate the possibility of a relegation scrap.

The verdict

Fornah appears to be a highly-rated midfielder within the ranks at Forest and a further loan spell, should it be productive, could put himself in for regular contention for next season.

His lack of playing time at first-team level with Forest this season is seemingly because of the excellent form shown by James Garner, Ryan Yates, and when not filling the void at left wing-back, Jack Colback.

Fornah can operate as a box-to-box midfielder, whilst he is equally as competent to play slightly deeper in a holding role, which will certainly be viewed as a positive by the Shropshire club.

This is another excellent opportunity for the young midfielder to shine in the third-tier.
