According to the Nottingham Post, Liam Bridcutt is poised to make his Nottingham Forest debut this weekend, against his former club, Leeds United.

Bridcutt, who was out of favour at Elland Road at the start of this season, sealed a move to Nottingham earlier this week, agreeing a three-year deal with Mark Warburton’s side.

The 28-year-old is now in contention to make his debut against Leeds this weekend, when the Whites travel to the City Ground to face Forest in the Sky Bet Championship’s teatime kick-off on Saturday.

Leeds travel to Forest, as one of the only teams with an unbeaten start to the Championship season, with Thomas Christiansen’s side in impressive form during the early stages of the campaign.

The Whites have picked up two victories and two draws from their opening four fixtures, including a 2-0 victory over Sunderland at the Stadium of Light last Saturday.

Despite Leeds’ impressive start to the season, Forest remain ahead of them in the table, with Bridcutt’s new employers picking up three victories from their first four fixtures.

Warburton’s side have suffered just one defeat across all competitions, which was a surprise slip up against Barnsley, who beat them 2-1 earlier this month.

The Verdict

It looks set to be a tight game between Leeds and Forest this weekend at the City Ground, with both clubs starting the 2017/18 season magnificently.

A player like Bridcutt could make all the difference for Forest, with his capability of shielding the defence, making him a valuable member of the team.

Leeds’ attacking trio that usually plays behind a striker have been key all season, and Warburton will turn to Bridcutt to stop like likes of Samuel Saiz getting a grip of the game.
