Nottingham Forest have rarely used Braian Ojeda so far since his signing but the player has revealed to Versus in Paraguay that he wants to get more action for the club going forward.
The youngster impressed in his native country and even had a stint in Argentina where he looked sharp too and now the player has the chance to show his abilities in England too.
However, since the 21-year-old signed for Forest, he has managed only three league outings in the Championship for the side and that is down to Steve Cooper clearly not wanting to rush him or throw him into the mix too often and too soon. With the side now in the top flight though having gone up through the play-offs, he is ready to have a crack at top-level football.
He is still only young too and has the potential to get even better further down the line - and exposure to top flight football could certainly help with that.
He will, of course, have to earn that opportunity first - and with the side packed to the rafters full of players who helped the side to go up this year, then it won't be an easy task. Ojeda though looks a bright prospect and will be hoping he can force his way into the fold soon.
Speaking to Versus about perhaps getting some gametime in the Premier League, the player said: "I haven't had time to talk to the coach yet but I think I'm still here, for me it's going to be important to stay here and play in the Premier League.
"I'd like to stay. I have a contract for three more years. It makes me happy to have the opportunity to play there, even more so at my age."
Ojeda will be eager to get going then - and if given the chance to impress in the Premier League, he will no doubt take the opportunity with both hands.
The Verdict
Braian Ojeda hasn't had much chance to show what he is capable of in the Championship or in England in general as of yet but he might get ample opportunity to do so further down the line.
He is of course still young and, considering that he hasn't played too prominent of a role in the squad that got promoted yet, he might struggle to break into the team as things stand. Considering the length of his deal though, Forest clearly value him highly - and see him as a future starter.
Whether that will allow him to get into the side while they are in the Premier League though is unclear. He struggled to get minutes in the Championship so with the step up, it might be even harder.
That could potentially mean a loan deal elsewhere but it's highly unlikely that Ojeda will end up being sold on considering the length of his contract. If he impresses though, he could get a chance in the top flight in no time.
