Nottingham Forest midfielder Jorge Grant is set to move to League Two side Mansfield Town on loan until the end of the season, according to reports from Football Insider.

The 24-year-old has spent the first-half of this season on loan at League One promotion candidates Luton Town, but recently had his loan deal with at Kenilworth Road cut short, after scoring four times in twenty-two games for the Hatters.

Reports have now surfaced that the playmaker looks set to move to League Two promotion chasers Mansfield Town - he'd join fellow Nottingham Forest loanee Tyler Walker at the One Call Stadium, who has been on fire for the Stags this term.

Grant flourished in League Two last season on loan at Notts County, and scored nineteen goals in over fifty games for the Magpies, helping them to a League Two play-off semi-final finish.

Forest are set to appoint Martin O'Neill as the club's new manager following the departure of Aitor Karanka last week, but it looks as if Grant isn't going to be given a chance to impress under the 66-year-old.

The Reds currently sit 9th in the Sky Bet Championship table, four points off the play-off places.

The Verdict

What a signing this is for Mansfield Town.

Grant was exceptional for their local rivals Notts County last season, and contributed to so many goals in their bid for promotion.

With the Stags chasing promotion from League Two, this could be the signing that gets them over the line.
