Ben Osborn is set to stay at Nottingham Forest after they rejected multiple offers for the midfielder from Stoke City, according to the Football Insider.

Osborn is contracted to the Reds until the summer of 2020 and he'll be keen to establish himself in Martin O'Neill's side for the remainder of the season.

It is thought that Osborn was interested in a transfer to Stoke this month but Forest were unwilling to let him leave unless their valuation of him was matched by the Potters.

Stoke's interest was no secret and they tabled a number of offers for the midfielder but have seemingly not come close to matching Nottingham Forest's valuation of him.

It had also been previously reported by The Mirror that the two clubs were discussing a potential swap deal involving Osborn and James McClean.

Osborn has made just 15 starts for the Reds this season as they challenge for a top six finish.

But with the news emerging that he is set to stay with Forest, he'll be hoping to put this speculation behind him and play his part in their promotion push this season.

The Verdict

I think he still has a point to prove for the Reds.

Osborn has been unlucky not to have featured on a more regular basis for Nottingham Forest and I think it's a wise move to stay at the City Ground.

This is the best outcome for the club and the player.
