Nottingham Forest had the perfect final game before the international break, with Sabri Lamouchi's side beating bitter rivals Derby County at the City Ground.

The result keeps the Reds firmly in the hunt for promotion as they sit fifth in the Championship and are three points behind the second automatic spot with a game in hand.

And, it turns out that the 1-0 win over the Rams was a double celebration for Brice Samba.

Midfielder Samba Sow had promised the keeper that he would give him 'something special' if he managed to keep a clean sheet against Phillip Cocu's side.

Of course, he did, and Samba took to Twitter today to reveal he had received his prize from Sow, which was a picture of the stopper in front of singing fans and with a red smoke bomb set off - and it's fair to say he appreciated it.

"There it is 😍🥰❤️🔴 #RedArmy @NFFC big thanks to the big man."

The shutout was the summer signings fourth in 11 games in the Championship and he will be hoping for another against Bristol City next time out.

The verdict

This shows what the Derby win meant to the players as Sow clearly recognised it was more important than a regular win.

It's also good for the fans to see the team have such a close bond and it suggests the morale in the group right now is very high, which is obviously a good thing.

As for the picture, it looks pretty good and it will mean Samba doesn't forget what was a great day for the club!
