Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Brice Samba has apologised to the fans for his role in Millwall's late equaliser at The Den last night.

The summer signing has been outstanding for the Reds this season, quickly establishing himself as a key player under boss Sabri Lamouchi.

However, he clearly wasn't happy with his own performance at The Den, with his failure to hold Shaun Williams' long-range shot allowing Aiden O'Brien to tap home the rebound in stoppage time.

"Really feel like I could have done better on that last goal but the ball movement was so s*** !!! Sorry to let you down on this one I owe you guys 🙏🏾 thanks for the continuous support I love you all," he tweeted following the game.

It was a slightly harsh assessment from the keeper though, as the ball did swerve a lot and it clearly deceived Samba who had to readjust quickly just to make the save.

Prior to that, the keeper had made a key block from Jake Cooper to ensure the Reds didn't go 2-1 down and it turned out to be a key moment with Lewis Grabban putting Forest ahead late on.

The verdict

You have to commend Samba for the honesty he has shown here and it proves that he is a very critical of himself.

On first viewing, the equaliser did look a goalkeeping error but on the replay it showed just how much the ball moved and you have to remember that he did keep the ball out, so he could ask why the defence didn't follow in like O'Brien did.

Either way, it's happened now but Samba has been superb this season and is going to be crucial to Forest's promotion push.
