Nottingham Forest man responds to controversial pundit opinion on Twitter

Nottingham Forest striker Britt Assombalonga took to Twitter today to criticise the opinion of Danny Mills.

Former Leeds United and Manchester City right back Danny Mills told talkSport that Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha “took the easy option” in picking to play for Ivory Coast rather than England.

Zaha had been impressing with his performances on the flank for Crystal Palace and earned his move to Manchester United and an England call-up.

He played twice for England, both in friendlies, which made him eligible to switch to Ivory Coast.

In 2017, Zaha has opted to play for the country of his birth and Mills (who earned 19 caps for England) has lambasted this decision.

However, Britt Assombalonga responded to this on Twitter by quoting Danny Mills’ article and saying “wow”.

Assombalonga has also recently been switching his international allegiance, although he is yet to play for the Democratic Republic of the Congo since his call-up before the African Cup of Nations.

FLW readers – what do you make of this? Is Assombalonga right to criticise Mills? Does Mills have a point? Let us know in the comments below…
