Sammy Ameobi has admitted that it will take time for the new players at Nottingham Forest to develop an understanding but he insists everyone is behind boss Sabri Lamouchi.

The former Rennes chief took over from Martin O'Neill this summer and once again there has been a high turnover of players at the City Ground.

The 27-year-old winger is one of the new boys and he gave an insight into what life has been like in the east Midlands when speaking to Nottinghamshire Live.

"Of course it can take time. There’s a lot of different nationalities - there’s French players, Spanish and Portuguese. It’s not easy, but the guys are really cool and we get on really well.

"The manager wants a certain style of play and we all need to buy into it, which is what we’re doing. It’s not going to work immediately, but each day we’re working hard and hopefully we can get to how he wants us to play."

Ameobi got his first 90 minutes for the Reds in the win over Fleetwood in the League Cup on Tuesday and he will hope to retain his place for the weekend game against Birmingham.

The Verdict

This is an honest message from Ameobi as he clearly isn't making out everything is going perfectly right now but most understand that patience is needed.

Lamouchi has a very different style to O'Neill and it will take hard work on the training ground to get his ideas across properly.

But, Ameobi's comments suggest that everyone is behind the new approach and the gritty point at Leeds, backed up by a win in the cup means there are reasons to be positive right now.
