Nottingham Forest midfielder Jack Colback has insisted that the Championship's top clubs should be wary of the Reds, report the Nottingham Post

He believes he and his teammates are yet to start firing on all cylinders yet remain very much in the race for promotion.

"We are looking to press the teams above us and push for the top two," Colback said.

"Over the season so far we have probably not quite been firing on all cylinders yet, which has to be a good thing.

"The mood is good; the mood is positive. There is more to come.”

Colback signed for Forest on a season-long loan in the summer after spending the second half of the previous campaign with at the City Ground.

He has been a regular for the club this campaign, starting 13 of the club's 16 matches so far and becoming an integral part of Aitor Karanka's set-up.

A frustrating 0-0 draw to Stoke City stuttered what had been a decent run of form and meant they dipped just outside the playoff places.

But after a start that saw them win just one of their first seven, it signals a big improvement from the club.

The Verdict

At the moment, it is impossible to rule anybody in the top half out of the promotion race.

The standings have changed so rapidly and so frequently already this season that Forest have just a good a chance as anybody.

Once the newly assembled group start performing a bit more consistently Karanka's side will be right up there.
