Nottingham Forest have made a loan offer to Beskitas for forward Guven Yalcin as the Reds aim to bring in a new forward before the transfer window closes, according to Turkish reporter Ertan Suzgun.
Chris Hughton’s side have got off to a frustrating start to the Championship season and have suffered four straight defeats.
That has highlighted the need for Forest to make some much-needed additions to their squad before the transfer window closes.
Forest have been in the market to add to their forward options throughout the summer window but have so far been unable to bring in a player in that position.
According to Turkish reporter Ertan Suzgun, Nottingham Forest have turned their attention towards securing a loan deal for Yalcin and they are keen to reach an agreement with Besiktas for his services.
Quiz: 12 of these 25 Nottingham Forest facts are fake – Can you identify them?
It is believed that Forest are prepared to meet the 22-year-old’s salary and secure him on loan for the campaign to bolster their attacking options.
That comes after Yalcin has been loaned out by Besiktas during the winter transfer window last season with him making the move to Lecce, where he made 11 appearances without scoring in Serie B.
Nottingham Forest clearly need to add to their attacking options before the window closes and Yalcin would at least provide an extra threat for Hughton to call upon in the final third.
However, signing the 22-year-old would have to be considered something of a gamble with him having so far failed to live up to his early promise at Bayer Leverkusen prior to his switch to Besiktas.
Although he did enjoy a strong 2018/19 season with the Turkish side scoring eight league goals in 22 appearances, but since then he has struggled to repeat that form.
Yalcin did not make too much of an impact for Lecce in the Italian second division during his loan spell last season, but he was only handed a couple of chances to make an impression from the bench.
Therefore, the 22-year-old is in need of moving somewhere that he can get more chances to show what he can do and Forest might be able to hand him that chance.
The forward would be able to bring something different to the table for Forest. If he can re-find the form he showed in his first season with Besiktas in 2018/19 then he could be a useful option for them.
