Nottingham Forest are looking to complete a deal to sign Jack Robinson, who is a free agent this summer following his release from Queens Park Rangers.

Robinson has turned down an attractive offer at QPR, and has now left Loftus Road, becoming a free agent this summer.

According to a report in the Nottingham Post, Forest are interested in bringing Robinson on board, with Aitor Karanka looking to solve the club’s problems at left-back.

The 24-year-old started out as a trainee at Liverpool, who he made 11 senior appearances for, before making the switch to Loftus Road in 2014.

During his four-year stay in London, Robinson made 42 appearances for QPR, spending his first year with the club on-loan with Huddersfield Town.

Last season under Ian Holloway, Robinson made 34 appearances for QPR, including 31 in the Championship, as QPR finished in mid-table.

Those 38 appearances brought two goals and a further assist.

Despite the offer of an attractive contract at Loftus Road, Robinson has opted to explore his options this summer, with a move to Forest looking a possibility, with the Reds at the front of the queue to secure his service ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.

The Verdict

Robinson finally looks like he is finding his feet in senior football, with his form last season impressive at Loftus Road.

For Forest, Karanka needs to solve their issues at left-back, which bringing Robinson on board would help to do.

As a free agent, the 24-year-old could be a shrewd addition at the City Ground.
