Nottingham Forest are looking to move on Jason Cummings and Michael Mancienne this summer, as Aitor Karanka oversees a squad reshape at the City Ground.

It’s been a busy start to the summer for Karanka, who yesterday completed the signing of Lewis Grabban, adding the 30-year-old to an impressive squad.

Exits are also likely this summer, with the Mirror’s live transfer blog (06/07, 15:14), confirming that Cummings and Mancienne are amongst those Karanka is looking to move on ahead of the new season.

Cummings, 22, was signed only last summer, but disappointed during his first six months with Forest.

The forward spent the second-half of the season on-loan with Rangers, and despite returning to the City Ground this summer, looks likely to be moved on alongside Mancienne.

Mancienne, 30, has made 124 league appearances during his time at the City Ground, but struggled last season.

The ex-Chelsea trainee made 33 appearances across all competitions, but now finds himself way down the pecking order in Karanka’s squad, with Tobias Figueiredo, Michael Dawson and Joe Worrall all competing for a place at centre-back.

The Verdict

Karanka has made some exciting additions to his squad this summer, but in turn, is going to have to sanction some exits.

Cummings and Mancienne are very much on the fringe now, with that duo two players likely to be on their way out.

Karanka will hope he can move players on as swiftly as he has brought them in.
