Nottingham Forest will be looking to kick on in 2019 after a solid first half of the season as they aim to get themselves promoted back into the Premier League.

The Reds have been pretty decent at times this year and with a bit more consistency they could reel in the top two.

Certainly, on their day they can beat anyone in the division and it will be interesting to see if they'll be looking to add to their side in the January window.

Indeed, according to the Daily Mail - via James Marshment on Twitter - the Reds have asked Burnley whether it might be possible to loan in Tom Heaton:

Heaton is an excellent goalkeeper but given Burnley's three top options in between the sticks, they might be tempted to let him go - though he has begun to feature once again in recent weeks.

The Verdict

If Forest could get Heaton in that would be a real boost to their promotion hopes.

Costel Pantilimon leaves a lot to be desired, and Heaton is a massive upgrade on him no matter which way you look at it.

It might be a tough task getting him, though, given his recent resurgence at Turf Moor.
