Nottingham Forest legend Kenny Burns believes the Reds only need two more victories this season to secure their place in the Sky Bet Championship, reports the Nottingham Post.
Gary Brazil’s side are currently 18th in the Sky Bet Championship, six-points above the relegation zone with 12 fixtures left to play.
Forest are in a poor run of form and are without a win since the beginning of February, but Burns believes six more points will be enough for survival, he told the Nottingham Post: “Two more wins, that should be enough, a couple more victories should keep Nottingham Forest up this season.
“They are on 37 points at the minute, six-points above the relegation zone, so another two wins should do it. That level of points has been enough to keep sides safe in the majority of recent seasons.”
Clubs usually aim for the 50-point mark, and Burns’ prediction will leave Forest on 43-points.
Things had looked bleak at the City Ground earlier this season, but Philippe Montanier’s departure last month, coincided with three victories from four games, lifting Forest away from the relegation zone.
Forest face a hard task of picking up three-points in their next game, when they face title chasing Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon.
