Tyler Walker, currently making his mark on Forest's first team, has become a popular figure at the City Ground after making his debut last season.

His name is already sung on Trent Side as he looks to emulate his father's status as a Nottingham Forest legend.

And he is well on his way in that quest as his dad believes he has the potential to be better than he ever was.

And it's important to reiterate the fact that Des Walker managed to accumulate 858 appearances in his professional career, excluding his 59 caps for England, making his statement all the more surprising.

Speaking to BBC Sport, the 49-year-old Forest legend said: "When I hear Forest fans singing 'He is one of our own', that always hits me hard because he is one of their own.

"I was born in London, but he is born here, lives here and loves the club. They appreciate that, so for them to give that back is amazing.

"He spent seven or eight hours a day smashing up my house playing football and that's why he has got where he has today. He has carved out his own niche."

Tyler Walker certainly has a promising career ahead of him as he continues to impress at such a young age. Whether or not he will reach the heights of his father remains to be seen, but he certainly has the potential and Forest fans will be hoping he can deliver.

Forest boss Dougie Freedman will also surely be happy with what he is seeing from the youngster, and is hopeful that he can continue to play a big part in Forest's 150th Anniversary season.
