Kenny Burns, a former Scotland international, says Sky Bet Championship outfit Nottingham Forest should make a move to bring back goalkeeper Dutch goalkeeper Dorus de Vries to the City Ground, reports the Scottish Sun.
The 36-year-old signed for Scotland Premiership champions Celtic last summer having spent three years at Forest, but his lack of game time has prompted a reported move away from Glasgow.
De Vries began the season as Celtic’s first choice goalkeeper but after just five appearances for the Hoops, he has been forced to become second fiddle to Craig Gordon since September.
He featured on 53 occasions for Nottingham Forest from 2013-2016 there prior to his move across the border but Kenny Burns suggests his former employer should take the Dutchman back; ”If I was Gary (Brazil), I would try to bring Dorus de Vries back, if they can make an emergency loan signing”.
The Championship team have conceded six more goals already than all of last season and current ‘keeper Stephen Henderson has been ruled out for the rest of the season, with the club sitting just seven points above the drop zone.
Forest supporters, would you take de Vries back? Is he better than your current goalkeepers? Is the number of goals conceded due to a poor defence or is the ‘keeper to blame?
