Hosam Aiesh is attracting interest from several Championship clubs this summer, with Swedish outlet Fotbolldirekt reporting that Nottingham Forest and Reading have joined the race to sign him.

Leeds are another club interested, and according to Fotbolldirekt Marcelo Bielsa was there to watch Aiesh along with a club scout.

It is not the first time the forward has attracted attention from abroad. Ostersunds turned down a reported £2 million bid for him in January, and it is likely the this supposed transfer battle could increase his value.

The 24-year-old has scored three and assisted three in his 34 appearances for the Swedish club, one of which came against Arsenal in the Europa League last season.

The Swedish international recently signed a new contract earlier this year, extending his deal until summer 2021. Therefore they are not in a position where they need to sell and could fetch a considerable price for him.

Leeds are also reportedly interested in his team mate Dino Islamovic, so a double deal could be on the cards.

The Verdict

Marcelo Bielsa is doing the right thing by watching him play before making any moves to sign him, given the fact he has never played outside Sweden. Nottingham Forest and Reading would be wise to do similar, but he is a talented player and could do well in the Championship if he adjusts quickly.

He may not be the most productive forward, but he offers a threat down the right flank. He has great pace and dribbling, and loves to beat a man, which would suit any of his suitors well.

If he could add more goals to his game he could quickly become one of the better forwards in the league, and that is perhaps a factor in why it is only Championship clubs who are reportedly interested.
