Nottingham Forest leading Bristol City in chase for Premier League striker

Nottingham Forest are being backed as favourites to land Crystal Palace striker Frazier Campbell, according to BetVictor Odds via the Nottingham Post.

Having already bolstered their attacking ranks with the signing of former Everton striker Apostolos Vellios from Iraklis, Forest are now looking for further recruitment up top and Frazier Campbell is being identified as a top target.

The Crystal Palace frontman has fallen down the pecking order at Selhurst Park and with Alan Pardew actively seeking another striker, Campbell could follow fellow forwards Dwight Gayle and Emmanuel Adebayor out the exit door this summer.

Forest will have to battle it out with Bristol City, though, to secure the services of the 28-year-old. Lee Johnson is in the market for a new striker with Jonathan Kodjia looking likely to depart.

Campbell has only scored four times in 31 games in the Premier League since his move to Crystal Palace in 2014 but has had previous successful spells with Cardiff, Sunderland and Hull.

The former Manchester United youth player has one cap for England and would add experience up front for Nottingham Forest or Bristol City.

Nottingham Forest fans – what do you think? Would Campbell be a good signing? Is he an improvement on what you’ve got?
