Nottingham Forest are one of a number of Championship clubs hoping to sign Tottenham Hotspur winger Jack Clarke on loan, according to a report by TEAMtalk.

The 19-year-old scored two goals in 25 appearances for Leeds United last season and was able to establish himself as one of the brightest young talents in the Championship.

The highly-rated teenager joined Tottenham - for a reported fee of around £10million - in the summer, but he was immediately loaned back to Leeds to allow him to gain more experience in the Championship.

However, things didn't work out for the forward after he returned to Elland Road and after making just one league appearance for Marcelo Bielsa's side, he was recalled by Spurs.

Spurs are looking to send the winger out on loan again this month in the hope that he will get to experience regular first-team football and Forest are thought to be one of several Championship sides who are keen on signing him.

According to TEAMtalk, Forest, Derby County, Middlesbrough, Millwall and Preston North End have all asked about Clarke and a decision is expected to be made over the next week.

The Verdict

Clarke is a very talented footballer and he'd be a very good signing for any of these clubs, in my opinion.

Things haven't worked out for him since he returned to Elland Road, but it's important to remember that he was one of the most exciting young players in the Championship last season.

He's clearly got a lot of potential and knows exactly what it takes to make an impact in this division. He should continue to improve as he gains more experience and it'll be very interesting to see which club he ends up at this window.
