Nottingham Forest join Leicester City in race to sign highly-rated player

Nottingham Forest will challenge Leicester City for the signature of Charlton Athletic teenage goalkeeper Edward Ogbebor-Onaiwu, according to All Nigeria soccer.

The League One side spotted the Nigerian teenage goalkeeper’s ability back in December 2014 and he was handed a trial with the club.

The 15-year-old recently had trials at both the Premier League and Championship side and the Reds will try to pip the Foxes to sign the highly rated teenager.

Ogebor-Onaiwu was born in England, but has chosen to follow his Nigerian routes after turning down the opportunity of a place in the England youth set-up.

In March this year, Nigeria’s Olympic National Team coach, Samson Siasia, invited Ogbebor-Onaiwu to a training camp in Abuja ahead of the All Africa Games qualifiers against Zambia.

The youngster could potentially be the next big shot-stopper of the future and has cited Manuel Neuer and Thibaut Courtois as his role models.

Forest fans… Should Forest pursue a contract for the youngster? Would he be the next star of the future? Let us know in your thoughts and opinions below!
