According to an exclusive report by The Scottish Sun, Wes Foderingham is a January transfer target for Nottingham Forest.

It is no secret that Nottingham Forest will be searching for a new striker when the transfer window re-opens tomorrow and Wes Foderingham is rumoured to be on their wanted list.

The Rangers goalkeeper has been a regular in the side for the past few years and he has been targeted by Championship clubs in previous transfer windows.

The 26-year-old has played 100 games for Rangers since joining from Swindon Town in 2015 and his displays between the sticks have encouraged English clubs to look at bringing the former Fulham academy graduate back down south.

Nottingham Forest have been linked with a move for the former England under-19 stopper before and recent reports have suggested they could rekindle that interest.

However, Nottingham Forest parted ways with former Rangers manager Mark Warburton this morning, which could spell the end of their interest in Foderingham.

Warburton brought Barrie McKay south of the border to The City Ground in the summer and was reportedly looking at Foderingham and James Tavernier to follow suit but now he has been sacked.

The Verdict

This move is unlikely to happen now that Mark Warburton has gone.

Nottingham Forest, who have also been linked with another move for Adam Federici, need to bring in a stopper to compete with youngster Jordan Smith.

Warburton was sceptical about whether Smith was ready and it will be interesting to see if the new Forest manager will go with him or bring in another.
