A string of Championship sides, including Nottingham Forest, are reportedly interested in Lincoln City's Jorge Grant.

The attacking midfielder has made a fast start to the season for the Imps, scoring eight times and adding six assists – contributions that have helped Michael Appleton's side battle at the top of League One this term.

It appears his performances have caught the eye of some in the division above as TEAMtalk has reported that a string of Championship sides are interested in the 25-year-old.

The report claims that Forest are eyeing the midfielder, while Brentford, Norwich City, Reading, and Swansea City are also thought to be keen.

Lincoln's stance on Grant is unclear but it seems they may face a battle to keep hold of him in the January transfer window.

A product of the Forest academy, the midfielder left the City Ground to join the Imps last summer having made just 20 appearances for the Reds and spent much of his career out on loan.

The playmaker impressed in his debut season, grabbing two goals and 11 assists, and has reached new heights in the first few months of the 2020/21 campaign.

The Verdict

Grant has been excellent so far this season and it's no surprise to see that Championship clubs are showing an interest.

Forest may well be kicking themselves for letting him leave last summer, though it didn't seem then like he was going to get a chance in the first team.

A return to the City Ground would be very interesting and he could be just the sort of creative spark that Chris Hughton's men seem to be lacking.
