As reported by The Nottingham Post, Nottingham Forest midfielder Ben Osborn is likely to start for the Reds against Fulham tonight in the Championship.

The game at the City Ground promises to be a very open affair with both sides needing to get a win on the board to boost their challenges for the top six places.

And, with both sides favouring a more attacking approach instead of playing it safe, we should see goals with Osborn likely to be part of Forest's line-up.

The young midfielder didn't start at the weekend against Aston Villa but that was only down to a minor injury, it has become apparent, and manager Mark Warburton has hinted that he'll be playing Osborn from the off this evening.

He said:

"He had some bleeding behind his nail on his toe, which can be very, very painful. But they drained it and he felt much better with the pressure being relieved.

"But I am conscious about him playing every minute of every game, because he is still a young player. We will look after him and it made sense to leave him out of the starting line-up in the circumstances.

"You saw the impact he had when he came on, however."

Indeed, it made sense to leave Osborn on the bench for that one but the impact he made when he came on at Villa Park was obvious and so it's more than likely he'll return from the off tonight.

Certainly, Forest will be hoping he puts in another good display, too, as they look for an all important three points.

The Verdict

For a young player, Osborn plays a lot of football and so Forest need to be careful that they do not burn him out.

He looked rejuvenated after half a game or so on the bench against Villa last time out, though, and so it is more than likely that the midfielder will be restored to the starting line-up.
