Nottingham Forest winger Joe Lolley is currently in the middle of the most impressive season of his professional career.

He has probably been the Reds' player this season so far as well, scoring seven goals and assisting eight in their 30 Championship matches, many of which have been disappointing.

The club currently sit in 12th place in the table in what has been a disappointing season but still remains just five points behind Bristol City who occupy the final spot in the play-offs.

This weekend sees them welcome an inform Brentford side to the City Ground as O'Neill looks to pick up a second straight home win.

And in the build-up, Lolley has come out and said how the team owe their fans for the support given over the course of the season.

But what should the fans make of this?

Ultimately, Lolley is spot on. The standard of the performances on the pitch have consistently outperformed by those in the stands this season.

The Reds' fanbase have done well to maintain the enthusiasm garnered from their pre-season business but it will quickly begin to fade away unless performances on the pitch change.

It is all well and good Lolley saying this, but it will not mean anything unless things change.
