Nottingham Forest remain in a strong position as they look to win a timely promotion back into the top-flight under the guidance of Sabri Lamouchi.

The Reds are currently sat fifth in the second tier standings, and will be hoping they can hold their nerve in the final nine games of their season.

However, recent off-the-field events have called a temporary halt to footballing fixtures across the UK, with the action not set to get back underway until the 30th April at the very earliest.

This means that Forest will have to remain patient in their bid for promotion this season, which is likely to frustrate the City Ground faithful.

One game that will be fondly remembered though in this break is their 2-0 win over Leeds United earlier this season, with Tyler Walker doubling the Reds' lead on the night, as Forest closed the gap on Leeds at the time.

The 'Open Door Challenge' has been viral on social media recently, and Forest's official Twitter account posted their own version of the events that unfolded against Marcelo Bielsa's side.

Nottingham Forest are set to return to action against struggling Stoke City on the 2nd May, although that scheduled return date could be pushed further back if the off-the-field crisis is to worsen in the coming weeks.

The Verdict:

The Nottingham Forest fans will absolutely love this.

It's a game where they rode their luck at times, but they took their chances, unlike Leeds United. Marcelo Bielsa's side look as though they're destined to win a long-awaited promotion back into the Premier League this season.

Forest could be joining them by the end of this year's campaign as well, but they need to show consistency in their performances heading into the final nine games of this year's campaign.

If they can replicate the performance they put in against Leeds, then they're likely to be one of the favourites in the play-offs.
