Under Martin O’Neill, Nottingham Forest looked set to seriously challenge for a place in the top-six.

Aitor Karanka left the club in January after a thoroughly disappointing opening to the season to be replaced by the former Reds defender and the form picked up soon after.

After a win against local rivals Derby County last Monday they rose to within three points of the top-six and it seriously looked like they could make the cut.

However, this is the Championship. And things change incredibly quickly in the second tier with a defeat at the weekend plunging their top-six hopes into doubt again.

A 2-0 loss to Stoke City at the Bet365 Stadium saw them move four points adrift of Bristol City with just 11 games left of the season.

This weekend they come up against in form Hull City at the City Ground and will be desperate to get another three points.

But how should the fans be feeling about their recent form?

Level heads are badly needed here.

Yes, the result away to Stoke was not a good one. Especially coming off such a big win against the Rams.

But they remain just four points outside the play-offs. A win on Saturday could see them move to within a point.

So the last thing they need now is for their fans to panic. O’Neill is an incredibly experienced manager and they need to trust that he will be able to get the job done.
