It was a mixed afternoon for Nottingham Forest at the weekend, with Sabri Lamouchi's side picking up a respectable point against Leeds United at Elland Road.

The Reds would have been looking to put a disappointing 2-1 home defeat to West Bromwich Albion behind them, as they went in search of their first three points of the campaign on Saturday afternoon.

As expected, it was a game that Leeds dominated on the back of an impressive 3-1 away victory at Bristol City the week before, with Marcelo Bielsa's side looking comfortable in every area of the pitch.

They created but squandered plenty of chances in the final third, but ultimately won the midfield battles and limited Forest to very few chances throughout the duration of the contest.

Pablo Hernandez opened the scoring for Leeds in the 59th minute of the game, but Patrick Bamford was made to regret missing two key chances before Lewis Grabban levelled for the visitors.

A difficult afternoon turned out to be a rewarding one for Grabban, who opened his account for the campaign following a goalmouth scramble from a corner.

Aside from his strike, Grabban cut a frustrating figure throughout, with his teammates leaving him far too isolated up top, and failing to hold the ball up against powerful defenders Liam Cooper and Ben White as the Reds looked to form counter-attacks.

Before the trip to Elland Road, Lamouchi admitted his disappointment at not being able to bring in a new forward before Thursday's transfer deadline, despite bringing in Rafa Mir on loan from Wolves not too long ago.

The likes of Hillal Soudani, Karim Ansarifard, Apostolos Vellios and Tyler Walker all departed the City Ground in the summer, with Daryl Murphy and Jason Cummings also being deemed surplus to requirements on Trentside.

With the club now unable to sign a striker for a fee from another club, the only way in which they will be able to bring in a new forward is on a free transfer, with plenty of useful options still out there for Lamouchi to explore.

Saturday's performance only reinforced the fact that Forest desperately need to another forward to their ranks - someone who can cope with the rough and tumble of the division, but isn't just a one-trick pony when leading the line.

Mir is a powerful, physical forward, but he has hardly been prolific in the Championship before and looks set to play second-fiddle behind Grabban as the season goes by.

The likes of Gary Hooper and Fernando Llorente are all out there available to sign, so it will certainly be interesting to see how Lamouchi addresses what is a key problem at present.
