Nottingham Forest face competition to sign Lewis Morgan, according to recent reports.

The print edition of The Sun on Sunday, 22nd October, page 63 via HITC Sport is reporting that Nottingham Forest target Lewis Morgan is attracting interest from New York Red Bulls.

Nottingham Forest were strongly linked with St Mirren star Lewis Morgan in the summer and have been widely tipped to revisit that move in the January transfer window.

However, they are not the only club in the hunt for the goal scoring midfielder.

Celtic and Rangers are both interested in the 21-year-old, who has been continuing to impress in the Scottish Championship so far this year by scoring five goals and getting a further two assists.

Bristol City have also shown an interest in Morgan in the past.

These clubs all face competition from New York Red Bulls, who have entered the race for the starlet.

The MLS side are hoping to attract him to the United States and possibly even offer him the chance to join German Bundesliga and Champions League side Red Bull Leipzig.

The Scotland under-21 international has a contract which runs until 2018 so St Mirren might have to cash in this January to prevent losing him for a compensation fee.

The Verdict

Lewis Morgan is making strides in Scotland and is considered to be one of the best young prospects north of the border.

Nottingham Forest must act quickly to fend off reported interest in the youngster if they are to land him.

The winger is a positive player with an eye for goal and his style of play suits Mark Warburton's criteria for his player profile.
