Nottingham Forest winger Arvin Appiah is reportedly attracting interest from a host of Bundesliga clubs according to a report by the Independent which says German clubs are set to step up their interest in British talent after the success of Jadon Sancho.

Appiah has made just one senior appearance in the Championship this season, a one-minute cameo against Leeds United, and just one in the League Cup as well, but did score in the club's 3-2 loss to Burton Albion.

The Nottingham Post had reported earlier this month that the Reds were keen to tie the 18-year-old down to a new deal but with limited success. This latest revelation could intensify negotiations.

Forest will take on Bristol City at the City Ground this Saturday in what will be Martin O'Neil's first match in charge of the club as they look to break back into the top-six.

They currently sit in ninth place with 27 matches played, but just four points behind Derby County who occupy the final spot in the play-offs.

Also on the list of potential targets were West Brom pair Louie Barry and Morgan Rodgers who could cause a headache for Darren Moore as well.

The verdict

This puts Forest in a very tricky situation.

Of course, they won't want to cash in on Appiah any time soon, but if it looks unlikely they will be able to give him game time then he may well demand to go.

It will all come down to how Martin O'Neil handles the situation.
