Speaking to Nottingham Forest’s official Twitter account, Mark Warburton has insisted the club do not want to find themselves in League One next season, and that they are aiming to win every game to maintain their Sky Bet Championship status.

Forest suffered two damaging defeats over the Easter period, losing 1-0 to both Blackburn Rovers and Cardiff City, leaving Warburton’s side 21st in the Championship table and just one-point above the bottom-three.

Warburton’s side have three fixtures left this season, and the 54-year old has declared his side will fight to survive in the Championship, he said: “We don't have a points total in mind to ensure safety; we will be going out to win each game and get as many points as possible.

“We don't want to be in League One, it is a tough league and we will fight tooth and nail to ensure we remain in the Championship.”

Forest welcome promotion-chasing Reading to the City Ground on Saturday afternoon, for what is the most difficult of their remaining fixtures.

Following this weekend’s clash Warburton’s side travel to London to face Queens Park Rangers, before taking on Ipswich Town on the final day of the season.
