Taking to Twitter last night Al-Hasawi stated: “I would like to make it clear that we have not accepted any bid for Henri Lansbury. As is the case with any of our players, the manager must be consulted and a replacement identified before I accept any bid.

“Dougie (Freedman) and I will make a decision that is best for Nottingham Forest. To our supporters, I ask for calm. I am still working hard in difficult circumstances to help Dougie improve the squad. This will take time.”

It was widely reported yesterday that Forest had accepted a £4m bid from promotion rivals Burnley, with the Clarets manager Sean Dyche hopeful that he will add the former Arsenal player to his squad as they look to bounce straight back into the Premier League.

Forest are currently working under a transfer embargo after breaching Financial Fair Play rules and thus are unable to pay a fee for a player and must rely on free transfers, or loan deals to sign new players, which may hold up Lansbury’s move to Burnley as they search for a replacement.

Dyche wanted to land the 24-year old last season during their top flight campaign, but Forest offered Lansbury a new contract so he stayed at the City Ground.

Lansbury played as Forest lost 1-0 to Brighton last Friday night, whilst Burnley drew 1-1 with Leeds at Elland Road.
