Nottingham Forest manager Dougie Freedman has stated that star midfielder Henri Lansbury will only be sold to Burnley, if the Clarets agree to throw one of their players into the deal to act as a part-exchange.

According to the Nottingham Post the ex-Crystal Palace boss, who wants to keep Lansbury at the City Ground, will only consider sanctioning the deal if striker Lukas Jutkiewicz or midfielder Scott Arfield are included in the package.

Lansbury was in sparkling form during Saturday's 2-1 win over Rotherham United and was named man of the match after an industrious midfield display.

Freedman spoke to the Nottingham Post shortly after the victory over the Millers.

He said: "The latest on the Lansbury saga is that we have enquired about a player from Burnley Football Club, to see if we can put that into the deal and the ball is now in their court.

"The deal is not solely dependent on another player being involved in the deal, Burnley will get back to us on that one.

Lansbury is without doubt one of Forest's most key players in their squad, and it is no surprise to see Freedman trying to get the best possible deal for him - because if Lansbury does leave the City Ground, there is a massive void left in the middle of the park.

Whether Burnley boss Sean Dyche would be willing to let go either Jutkiewicz or Arfield is uncertain, as they both seem to have been heavily involved in Burnley's matches so far this season.
