Nottingham Forest have made four players available for transfer, according to Nottinghamshire Live.

Sabri Lamouchi is beginning to stamp his mark on the squad, deeming Michael Hefele, Luke Steele and Liam Bridcutt all as surplus to requirements, with Daryl Murphy having earlier been added to the transfer list.

The new manager has already made five new additions of his own and if the club manages to offload the four unwanted players then there could be a new-look Forest squad next season.

All those listed could fetch decent transfer fees as they have good reputations and years left on their contract. Murphy, however, is 36 and considering his wages it may be difficult to offload him without accepting he may have to leave on a fee.

The club is also open to offers for Zach Clough, who spent last season on loan at Rochdale but failed to make an impression at the League One club, scoring a single goal in 13 appearances.

Hefele is perhaps a surprise addition to the transfer list after missing the second half of last season through injury. Lamouchi has decided against the approach of giving him a fresh start and an opportunity to prove his value.

The inclusion of Bridcutt and Steele is more understandable given the two made a combined total of just 11 appearances last season.

The Verdict

It is a shock to see a new manager make such an impact on a new team in such a short space of time, but there is plenty to be positive about for Forest.

They have brought in young, talented players who have the technical ability to really impress at Championship level and, in turn, are trying to get rid of players - in some cases - who can arguably no longer cut it in the second-tier.

Those listed are likely high earners too so getting them off the wage bill will be a big help towards bringing in new additions who can help the club achieve its goal of finishing in the play-offs.
