Nottingham Forest continued their wretched run when they fell to a 3-1 defeat at home to Fulham in the week.

The loss made it three defeats in a row and again highlighted the clear defensive deficiencies that Mark Warburton's side have.

Whilst they are a perfectly accomplished side with the ball, the basic errors and lapses at the back are costing them points, with the pressure increasing on the former Rangers manager.

With a major game looming at the City Ground against 2nd placed Sheffield United on Saturday, Warburton admitted to the Nottingham Post that they need to get some points on the board.

“With the international break coming up, we do need to get some reward from this weekend, we really do. There is no hiding place. We have lost five out of six and that cannot happen.

However, the Forest boss was adamant that the performance level of his team hasn't been the problem.

Yes we are creating chances, yes we went toe-to-toe with one of the best footballing sides in the division, with a young team. But we end up with absolute frustration from not getting the goals or the result.

After the October break, Forest begin with a huge clash against rivals Derby County.

The Verdict

Forest fans will be getting increasingly annoyed at Mark Warburton making the same comments after a loss.

They have played good football at times but ultimately it's not getting results and he should consider sacrificing elements of his game until they get players who suit this style, particularly defensively.

Forest have already fell a long way down the table and need to get some points on the board quickly before they get sucked into another poor season.
