SV Darmstadt forward Serdar Dursun has entered talks with German club Hamburg over a potential move this summer according to German media outlet Bild

Dursun has caught the eye with a number of impressive performances in recent seasons, with the 29-year-old scoring 19 goals in 36 appearances in all competitions during the 2019/20 campaign.

That strong run of form saw him linked with a move to both Derby County and Nottingham Forest earlier this term, although a move failed to materialise during both the summer and winter transfer windows.

Dursun has continued to score goals on a consistent basis with Darmstadt though, having netted 23 goals in 33 appearances for them this season.

Darmstadt are currently sat tenth in the 2.Bundesliga table, and it appears as though he could be on the move heading into the summer transfer window.

But he won't be heading to Derby or Nottingham Forest it seems, with Bild claiming that Hamburg could sign him on a pre-contract agreement, with Dursun's contract set to reach a conclusion at the end of the 2020/21 season.

Derby are set to return to action this weekend, when they take on Sheffield Wednesday, in a final day decider, with the loser of the match being relegated into League One.

The Verdict:

This might not even matter too much for Derby.

The Rams are in serious danger of being relegated into League One this season, and there wouldn't be a chance that they'd be able to convince Dursun to sign for them if they were playing their football in the third-tier next term.

It'll be interesting to see how the Rams cope next season though, as they've been heavily reliant on the goals from Colin Kazim-Richards in this year's campaign.

Additional options are needed in the summer, but that could depend on which division Wayne Rooney's side are playing their football in.
