Nottingham Forest defender Eric Lichaj believes that two more wins will keep the Reds afloat in this season's Championship campaign, according to The Nottingham Post.

Mark Warburton's Nottingham Forest team eased their relegation concerns this weekend when a 2-0 win over high flying Huddersfield Town gave them some breathing space and moved them to five points clear of the bottom three.

Next up for Nottingham Forest is a home tie against Blackburn Rovers on Friday night and the importance of this game for both sides cannot be understated.

Blackburn currently occupy the final spot inside the relegation zone so a win for Forest would lift them to a very comfortable 8 points clear of the drop with four to play.

Lichaj has said that a win in that game is a must and added that two wins should see them safely preserve their status as a second tier club.

The American defender said:

"I think to secure it we would need to beat Blackburn on Friday and then get another win beyond that.

"It would be done and dusted then.

"I think it is a big game on Friday.

"It was a big step this weekend as well – and we definitely deserved that win.

"It was not a result we nicked.

"If we had not won after that performance, we would have been really upset.

"We were just the better team, at the end of the day.

"We have beaten all the top three now.

"Perhaps the better teams bring out the best in us.

"We just need to stay in this league now and this win was massive for us.

"If we just win our home games and pick up a few points away from home, then we will be looking good."
