Nottingham Forest’s Danny Fox has revealed that there is a buzz around Aitor Karanka’s playing squad, with results picking up at the City Ground in recent weeks.

It was a sluggish start to the season for Forest, who were guilty of drawing too many fixtures.

However, Karanka has managed to inspire his side, with Forest winning their last three fixtures across all competitions, moving up the Championship table and progressing to the fourth round of the League Cup.

The Reds are looking to make that four tomorrow when they face Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park, with Karanka’s side heading to Lancashire full of confidence.

Fox has been speaking to the club’s official website, highlighting the improved atmosphere within Karanka’s squad: “There is a buzz around the place and it shows; there was about eight or nine lads who played on Wednesday who hadn't played in a while and they have given the manager another headache, which is a good headache for him to have.

"It is better than not having that type of decision to make. There is a buzz and everyone is looking forward to every game, nobody wants to miss any training sessions and we are going into every game confident at the minute.”

Karanka’s side are unbeaten since September’s international break, with back-to-back victories in the Championship, over Sheffield Wednesday and Rotherham, moving the Reds onto 14 points.

A midweek cup success over Stoke City has handed Karanka a selection headache ahead of this weekend, though, with a number of Forest’s fringe players pushing for a starting berth at Ewood Park.

The Verdict

This is really positive to hear.

Karanka has built a big squad, which can sometimes be a problem. However, Fox is talking up the positivity around the City Ground, which can only be seen as a good thing.

Of course, good results help that along, but that positivity could carry Forest a long way this season.
