Chris Wilder refused to dismiss speculation linking him to the vacant Sunderland job.

The Black Cats are on the hunt for a new manager after the new owners sacked Chris Coleman as they prepare for life in League One.

Wilder has been heavily linked due to his reputation as a promotion specialist as well as his in-depth knowledge of League One, even though he is currently in charge of a side that will be finishing in the top half of the Championship.

Sheffield United were challenging for a play-off spot until recent results scuppered that and they started the season very strongly.

However, the inability to finish in the play-offs, Millwall being above them who were also promoted as well as the poor second half of the season have led to questions over his future as his relationship with the board has deteriorated significantly.
