This transfer window looks set to be a bleak one for Aston Villa and their fans, with financial troubles blighting any possible business.

The West Midlands club look set to cash in on a few of their star men this summer in order to raise some much-needed money.

One position that they will become lighter in is attack.

Re-signing Lewis Grabban is out of the question whilst Jonathan Kodjia and Scott Hogan could also be used to raise funds.

With this in mind, it may be time for those in the Villa youth set-up to step up, with Keinan Davis being one man who could see himself thrust into the first team.

The 20-year-old did make 34 appearances in the Championship for Villa last season, but most of these were as a substitute?

So could Davis make the step up and become Villa's main man? We discuss.

George Dagless

I think we'll see that.

He's got goals in him even if he wasn't that prolific last season.

What's good about him is that he's a hard worker that will take on defenders.

That certainly bodes well.

Gary Hutchinson

Not yet. I think he'll be on the fringes, but as for stepping up, it might be a season too early.

Then again, given Villa's current cash flow situation, he might be forced into the first team early if there's a last-minute flash sale.

Chris Gallagher

He has to!

Villa aren't going to be able to spend to bring players in so will be relying on youth. He has all the tools to be a good Championship striker and will get his chance to prove himself next season.

Jay Williams

If Scott Hogan and/or Jonathan Kodjia depart, Davis is going to play an integral role.

Davis impressed last year with his power and if he adds goals to his game, he would be an excellent Championship forward.

You can see Davis and Rushian Hepburn-Murphy getting more chances next season.

Alfie Burns

Davis became the forgotten man last season, after a strong start.

I can see Bruce turning to him a lot more next season given Villa’s current position.

It’s down to the striker to impress.
